Ownership of Swords and Edged Weapons in Australia
In Victoria, prior to purchasing a sword or edged weapon, you are required to hold a Chief Commisioner's Approval for Prohibited Weapons. This Licence currently costs around $130. There are no specific sword laws in other Australian states. The alternative is to become a member of a knife/sword club such as the AKC(Australian Knife Club), for $25 per year, which will allow you to buy a sword in Victoria. This is a far simpler option.
Proof of membership will be required before dispatching swords to a Victorian address.
